We have 7 new Tuscan Gold crias on the ground, his first cria crop, born in 9/08 and 10/08. He has certainly delivered for us and exceeded our expectations! Several client Tuscan Crias are on the ground as well. We can't wait to get them to the show ring in 2009. They are also available for purchase and listed on our sales list.

Close your eyes and imagine a view of 40.5 acres of rolling foothills in Colorado with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop and the landscape dotted by both Huacaya and Suri alpacas, Arabian horses and Maremma Italian livestock guardian dogs. You are now at Bella Vita Ranch.

This scene is part of the reason behind the name Bella Vita, which means "beautiful life" in Italian. Breeding quality alpacas is also part of that name. We have been able to fast track to success in the alpaca industry by purchasing and breeding superior blood lines and recognizing the value of alpacas from all three South American countries of origin. While we have pure Peruvian, Bolivian and Chilean animals, we also cross these lines to bring out the best in our breeding program. The success of such a strategy became apparent in our third year of business when our alpacas earned 5 color championships.

Part of the reason for our success in breeding, raising and showing alpacas has been our 15+ years experience doing the same thing with Arabian horses. We enjoy sharing our experience and knowledge with our clients, and the biggest joy for us is when our clients go on to experience the same success we have enjoyed.

Our ranch is located just south of the town of Castle Rock, half way between Denver and Colorado Springs. It is an easy commute of about an hour from the Denver International Airport and approximatley 45 minutes from either Denver or Colorado Springs.
